Whale Watching Tour (adventure or leisure)

This has been a Winter Winner Tour with optional boat based whale watching or sea kayaking.

Enjoy a scenic coastal trip up East with photo stops along the way, first stop at Gordon’s Bay overlooking False Bay and Table Mountain in the distance. As we continue our journey we stop to enjoy a walk on a white sandy beach and visit The Harold Porter Botanical Gardens….leisure time to walk to the waterfall or enjoy the tea garden for a snack. 

Our trip takes us to the coastal town of Hermanus – known as the Whale town of South Africa – famous not only for having the only Whale Crier in the world but being the best and only land based whale watching centre in the world! Winter brings yearly visits from the growing population of the Southern Right Whales.  Bryde’s Whales, Humpback Whales  and dolphins visit frequently.

View these majestic mammals while strolling along the waters edge….patience is needed to capture that perfect photo shot of a breach or a whale tail. See them frolicking or spy hopping in the bay….they are often so close to the shore that hearing them gives you shivers up your spine. Optional boat based whale watching or choose a 2hr sea kayak with the whales (seals, penguins and dolphins are often spotted ), or choose to linger longer in the coastal town and do the coastal cliffpath walks or visit quaint shops. Enjoy lunch (own account) while overlooking the bay.

Then after a “Whale of a time” we slowly make our way back to Cape Town over mountain passes…. winding down through apple and pear orchards. Half way we visit a farm stall where local produce can be purchased. Ending the full day with magnificent views of Cape Town over Sir Lowry’s Pass before arriving back at your accommodation
