Seeking adventure……No Limits!!

Dear Microsoft,

I opened my Internet Explorer web browser this morning to test an application for display with Internet Explorer and got a nice surprise. I was asked if would like to make your Bing search engine my default search engine. Other than being surprised at your courteous gesture, I’m dismayed by it. Here is why.

I’m using Internet Explorer version 7. This is a web browser that has been in existence long before your proposed indexing service, so how could the message be embedded in my browser?

A quick search showed that this is just one of your underhand tactics in trying to gain favor for your products on a underhand way. What really bugs me is that you have a history installing dangerous software within your scheduled updates.

Just recently one of your updates adds to Firefox one of the most dangerous vulnerabilities present in all versions of Internet Explorer: the ability for Web sites to easily and quietly install software on your PC.

I hope that everyone that reads this letter would realize that automatic updates are dangerous – especially if they’re followed by a merciless restart. They can destroy precious work, and cause more havoc than they are fixing.

So from me here is a message with regards to all the updates that you fond so nessecary to add to my site. Thank you but no thank you. I have turned my updates off long ago, ensured a proper anti virus and firewall was installed and I really do not need all the “security” updates that you were throwing my way.

Maybe if I felt that I could trust your intentions it would have been different. Lord knows I update all my other programs.
